An organization listing a Cleveland address is being accused of running an employment scam where employees went unpaid and were charged hundreds of dollars to use company-owned equipment.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — the Cleveland Better Business Bureau after a complaint was made by “an employee” that was scammed. Four reports about Thrive LGBT have alsoa residential address in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood as its headquarters. On its website and social media pages, the organization describes itself as a nonprofit that helps homeless and high-risk LGBTQ+ individuals with counseling, education and rehoming.
One of the would-be hires filed a complaint with the BBB. They were hired in November, and soon found out that they and their coworkers were not being paid. After confronting the CEO, they were all fired, according to the complaint.describe a similar situation. People say they applied for positions online and were quickly given a job offer after a phone interview. Then they were told to put down anywhere from a $400 to $600 deposit for a company laptop.
