. ClemsonFB maintains its hold on No. 1 in the latest AmwayUS Coaches Poll, which includes the return of the bigten. With WeAreAFC.

There are plenty of changes in the Amway Coaches Poll this week, though most of them result from events off the field. The Big Ten’s decision to reboot its fall season with a late October start date means those schools are again eligible to be ranked, though some voters are taking a wait-and-see approach with those teams.

With all that out of the way, Clemson easily retains the No. 1 position. The Tigers moved to 2-0 after what amounted to a scrimmage against The Citadel and were chosen first on 44 of 48 ballots. The SEC, whose season kicks off this week, continues to hold down four of the next five spots. Alabama heads the group at No. 2, claiming a first-place vote. Georgia moves into a tie for third with Oklahoma. LSU stays put at No. 5, retaining a No. 1 vote, followed by Florida at No. 6.
