An 8th-grade student at Lakeside Junior High has been suspended from school after they threatened to bring a weapon to campus on Oct. 1, according to Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook.

The sheriff added that, out of an abundance of caution, additional law enforcement will be at the school on Wednesday. “We thank everyone for all the tips and information provided which helped us quickly resolve the situation.
