Claudia Conway broke from her mother, Kellyanne Conway, over her support for former President Donald Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance.Trump, who will be officially nominated as the Republican presidential candidate at the Republican National Convention this week, announced on Monday that Vance, who has represented Ohio in the Senate since 2023, will join him on the Republican ticket as his vice presidential pick.
'In 2016, Vance told an associate on Facebook that he was going 'back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a**hole like Nixon who wouldn't be that bad or that he's America's Hitler,' according to Reuters. However, Vance has said he changed his opinion about Trump after meeting him in 2021. As a senator, he has consistently shown support for the former president, though his past remarks have been a sticking point for some of Trump supporters.
