Premier League leaders Arsenal moved eight points clear of Manchester City after thrashing Crystal Palace 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. SLInt MORE:
Rob Holding was handed a start in place of the injured William Saliba for the Gunners, who recalled Martin Odegaard and Bukayo who started on the bench in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
The Gunners managed to carve out their first real opening at goal on 18 minutes when Odegaard saw his powerful shot saved by Palace goalkeeper Joseph Whitworth. The lead was doubled three minutes before the halftime break as Saka combined with Ben White in the box, before sending a composed finish past Whitworth for his 11th league goal.
Palace did pull a goal back in the 62nd minute when Jeffrey Schlupp volleyed past Aaron Ramsdale from lose range after Arsenal failed to deal with an in-swinging corner.
