It was open between 1978 and 1996, during which time a string of people died on the attractions, and even more were injured. Noting the deaths, comedian Chris Gethard quipped: ‘Nobody should ever be the second person to die in a wave pool.Others revealed that owner Eugene would get around the strict rules many amusement parks are governed by, by simply ‘ignoring’ them.
