Jimmy Craig fixes up old guitars and gives free lessons; it's one of the ways he shares a miracle that happened to him 24 years ago
In a workshop in his backyard in Clairemont, Jimmy Craig is fixing up old guitars. He's getting them ready to give away. But first he teaches people how to play them. In the back of the workshop is the music studio he built where he gives free lessons. Guitars are hung all over the walls. Some are shiny and sleek, some honey-colored with the wood grain showing.
He sees potential and he'll keep on encouraging. One of the amazing things about him is he sees the good in everyone.' Craig said he just felt called to do this. He's played the guitar since he was 12. 'Music touches everyone in one way or another. Worship music touches our souls. When we hear it, somehow we feel a sense of peace, even in tumultuous or sad time in our lives,' said Craig, 70, a retired construction contractor. Craig knows that feeling.
