City leaders are reacting to the announcement of the Mobile Airport Authority 's purchase of more than 270 acres of land located at Michigan Avenue and I-10."We knew that was coming. There had been some discussions. We did not know exactly when that was going to take place, but, of course, we heard about it yesterday. I am just looking to get some more information,” said Mobile City Councilman Cory Penn .
"Of course, we are excited about having an international airport. I think it is huge, but from that portion of land how will that be utilized? How will it affect that particular community which is not in my district but how will it still affect that particular community as well as the City of Mobile,” said Penn.Airport Authority President Chris Curry spoke to NBC 15 News on Wednesday.
