DOTHAN, Ala. - People wondering about updates on Dothan’s City Center project, you are in luck.The city, along with RDG Planning and Design, addressed the progress of the projects multiple aspects, which includes renovations to the Opera House; a new park, amphitheater and pedestrian plaza on North Saint Andrews Street; the new Wiregrass Innovation Center and plans for the new City Hall.
“We’re very excited on the progress that’s being made on the Opera House and the additions that’s going on there, as well as the event plaza next door,” Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba said. “Wiregrass Innovation Center has got some vertical going on there that looks good. We’re still in the planning stages on a lot of it, but progress is going very well.”
“The intent is to provide quality of life amenities and that gets folks downtown and staying downtown,” said Matt Coen, principal planner at RDG. “Whether they live in Dothan or are traveling.
