Since the start of the cruise season in October, nearly 75,000 passengers have passed through the Cape Town Cruise Terminal. Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos, says the city welcomed approximately 7,000 passengers this weekend alone.

According to Vos, the cruise industry is critical to the City’s economy, and he anticipates 75 cruise ships docking in Cape Town in the coming months.The cruise travel industry is expected to give Cape Town’s economy a significant boost and create more jobs in a wide range of sectors.

So far this season , a large number of ships have arrived, with nearly 75,000 passengers passing through the port of Cape Town.“The cruise sector holds a strong economic significance for Cape Town, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors to our shores for the remainder of this bumper season. It’s wonderful to see that our tourism strategies, destination marketing campaigns, and city-to-city agreements are working well to achieve increased demand and supply,” said Vos.
