ICYMI on KPBS Midday Edition: In April, the Climate Action Plan Report Card for cities in the region gave San Diego a score of zero for its zero-waste implementation because its trash diversion rate has hovered at around 65% since 2017.

Maureen Cavanaugh has been a familiar voice for KPBS listeners for more than 15 years, serving in a variety of capacities including announcer, host, and producer. Maureen is a native of Queens, New York, but after more than 20 years in San Diego she feels she qualifies as a real Southern Californian.Harrison Patiño is a producer for"KPBS Midday Edition".
