Darren Keet returned between the sticks for the Citizens, who also recalled Brice Ambina, Khanyisa Mayo and Lyle Lakay, while Swallows handed a debut to new signing Tawanda Macheke.
Swallows looked for ways to get beyond the Citizens defensive resolve as the half started to wind down, though that final entry to the attacking-third wasn’t decisive enough. The second goal arrived ten minutes following the resumption after Taariq Fielies took a telling ball outside the area in his stride and powered into the back of the net.
