Cities: Skylines 2 mod support will arrive alongside its first DLC in March 2024, Clossal Order announced.
at launch was the lack of official mod support, though that didn’t stop talented community members from making and publishing very impressive examples outside the official system. Colossal Order finally announced that it would rectify this mistake onHowever, there is a bit of a caveat to this proclamation: Only map and code mods are included in this first release. Asset mods still won’t be officially supported for now. They are supposed to get their due later down the line.
This means that Steam Workshop won’t be the place to find Cities: Skylines 2 mods even after official support comes into play – instead, you’ll need to check for community-made content on the new Paradox Mods platform, which will be launched alongside the tools., the Beach Properties expansion. Containing 70 brand-new assets as well as a dedicated residential zone for waterfronts, this pack will transform the visuals of cities built on the coast or on rivers.
Both the North American and European architecture styles will receive ten new residences with three levels each, so that’s 60 of the assets. In addition, six signature buildings to boost the new waterfront zone and four fresh tree types will be included. Along with mod support and the Beach Properties DLC, a big update for the game will become available to players, the developer promised. It’ll contain a “substantial amount” of performance updates, general fixes, and improvements.Marco Wutz is a writer from Parkstetten, Germany.
