A church in Columbus, Ohio finally received a cleanup after years of complaints to ODOT about overgrown vegetation and trespassing. Problem Solvers featured the church's plight last week, highlighting the issue of trash and safety concerns caused by the neglected easement bordering the property.

The cleanup took place on the easement that borders the property belonging to the Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, along Maynard Avenue, where brush was seen growing through and over the church fence into its parking lot. December 2024

Pastor Michael Henson also pointed out a series of holes made in the chain linked fence by trespassers who stay or illegally dump trash in the ODOT easement. In August, Rev. Sandra Kemper with the church sent ODOT another complaint stating, "weeds need to be cut and the fence is broken down." To that, ODOT replied that it would inspect the area.

ODOT representatives told ABC 6 News that they tried to call members of the Jerusalem Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church earlier this month, but no one answered the phone. Problem Solvers provided ODOT more church contacts, and that's when crews got to work.
