Chula Vista police seek missing man, 79, last seen leaving senior facility with younger companion [Breaking]

Police sought the public’s help Wednesday to find a missing 79-year-old man who was last seen over the weekend leaving an assisted living facility with a younger companion.

Police say Christopher Dawsknowles, 79, was last seen Saturday leaving a Chula Vista assisted living facility with Thomas Pina Gonzalez. Christopher Dawsknowles is unable to move about on his own, but his wheelchair was left behind when he went missing Saturday from the assisted living facility near Third Avenue and D Street, Chula Vista police Sgt. Anthony Molina said in a news release.

He was last seen being wheeled away by 32-year-old Thomas Pina Gonzalez, according to Molina, who described Gonzalez as Dawsknowles’ acquaintance. Their destination was unknown. Dawsknowles, who is White, just under 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds, is “considered at risk due to having dementia and medication requirements,” police said. He has green eyes and gray hair that reaches his shoulders and was last seen wearing a green hospital gown.Anyone with information about the pair’s whereabouts, or anyone with contact information for Gonzalez, was asked to contact Chula Vista police at 691-5151 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 580-8477.
