‘Chula Vista is growing:’ Takeaways from the State of the City address

The city of nearly 300,000 people is growing with the addition of several new projects, ranging from new homeownership opportunities to fire stations

Chula Vista’s spending priorities for the new fiscal year, beginning in July, show its focus on expanding public safety. Among a list of projects McCann named is Pacifica Companies’ Amara Bay condominium community, which he said will break ground next week by the bayfront at Marina Parkway and J Street. It will offer more than 150 luxury units with a host of amenities, such as a fitness center, outside fireside lounge area, pet grooming and a gourmet restaurant. The development will also bring new retail and office space.
