Continuing positive trends in the right direction will pay off in the long run, Dr. Mackey said.
Despite claims the state is in a better position academically this year than it was last year, chronic absenteeism has been an uphill battle post-pandemic.
So far, state superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey said the state is in a better position this year than they were last year. For Ozark City Schools, which matched the state average of 14 percent last year, connecting with resources outside school has worked.
