Christopher Nolan is one of the most legendary directors working today, and his love of film extends even to the Fast & Furious universe.
During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Nolan was asked about his infamous love for the franchise, and had no problem admitting his guilt-free love of it.
“I have no guilt about being a fan of the Fast and Furious franchise,” Nolan said, before calling it “a tremendous action franchise.” The director was also shocked that Colbert had never seen any, and said he watched them “all the time.” “You’ve never seen any of them?” said Nolan. “I watch those movies all the time. I love them. I’m amazed you’ve never seen one of them.”For those looking to dive into the Fast & Furious franchise for the first time, Nolan recommends 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which serves as a standalone sequel to the first film, and also ties into the overall franchise later on.
In total, there are 11 Fast & Furious films out now, including the 2019 spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw. The most recent film, Fast X, released in May 2023, with Fast & Furious 11 currently planned to release sometime in 2025. Three other spin-off films, including one starringAnthony Nash has been writing about games and the gaming industry for nearly a decade. When he’s not writing about games, he’s usually playing them.
