Christopher Nolan has an emotional response to the idea of filming during the actors and writers strikes and vehemently defending both groups.

As Hollywood enters a historic new era, Christopher Nolan has a strong response to the idea of filming during the ongoing actors and writers strikes. The Writer's Guild of America first took to striking in May, calling for better measurements of streaming residuals and prevention of the overuse of artificial intelligence in writing, with the assurance of jobs in writers rooms.

No, absolutely. It's very important that everybody understands it is a very key moment in the relationship between working people and Hollywood. This is about jobbing actors, this is about staff writers on television programs trying to raise a family, trying to keep food on the table.

Why Nolan Could Be One Of The Strikes' Most Important Voices Nolan's comments on the ongoing actors and writers strikes comes on the heels of the Oppenheimer cast walking out of the movie's premiere, in spite of its plans to start the showing early in case the decision was made.

With Christopher Nolan confirming he won't film anything during the actors and writers strikes, it will be interesting to see if such major figures as Cruise, another renowned proponent of the theatrical experience, take to sharing their support for the WGA and SAG-AFTRA in the coming weeks.
