The Sky Skate Ice Path which first appeared last year will return with a new layout
Christmas might seem a long way off but plans are already well in hand for the 2023 Winter Wonderland. The Christmas spectacular will take over Old Market Square once again, but this year the festivities will start a week earlier.
The Mellors Group, which organises the event in conjunction with Nottingham City Council, has announced opening day is Tuesday, November 7. The annual event will run for more than seven weeks until New Year's Eve. Alongside the ice rink, there will be a new Sky Skate Ice Path layout, taking ice skaters overhead The observation wheel and toboggan slide will be providing further entertainment. Shoppers will be able to find unusual Christmas gifts on the market stalls.
There will be plenty of opportunity for food and drink with stalls and the Ice Bar, Sur La Piste and Altitude Ski Bar making a return. The news comes just days before the current attraction in Slab Square, Nottingham Beach, is cleared away. It will be open until September 3.
