Christian Mission Centers looks to raise $1,000 to donate box fans to people in need.

ENTERPRISE, Ala. - It is officially the first day of summer and the heat is just getting started, but a church mission group in Enterprise is launching a campaign to hopefully help families combat extreme temperatures.

Christian Mission Centers needs our help to make this happen, with a goal to raise $1,000 to purchase box fans for people this summer. Office manager Amanda Simmons says it’s a common sight for people to come in needing help with broken air conditioners. Combining this with high utility bills, the heat can become a real problem for those in dire situations.

“Every summer, one of the big needs that we see in our community is the outcry for people needing help with the heat,” said Simmons. “This year, we’re really trying to get ahead of the game before this heat really hits and be able to raise some money for box fans.”and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
