The charity says the hospital rejected to donations because the group has 'blessings' in its name.
Pediatric hospital Children’s Wisconsin on Wednesday allegedly rejected donations from a toy drive that came from a religious non-profit.
“On July 23rd, 2023, our sweet Brecken went to be with Jesus in Heaven,” his biography reads. “Despite all he went through, he always found joy and happiness in everything he did.” “Thank you so incredibly much to everyone who participated this year!” the charity wrote via Facebook. “I have read each individual note that came in and it is so obvious how many people loved our little guy Brecken.”
“It has been brought to my attention that our 3rd annual Christmas toy drive donations will not be accepted by the hospital, because of our sticker logo having the word ‘blessings’ in it,” the charity wrote. “Therefore, Breckens ‘blessings’ can be perceived as a religious affiliation which goes against their policies.”
