St. Joseph junior Charlie Esposito defeated CBA’s Cael Dutton by 15-6 major decision, but the Green Knights needed a technical fall or a pin to come away with the victory. Dutton threw Esposito late in the period to all but clinch the win. Before that final takedown, Esposito trailed 14-2 on top with time ticking near 30 seconds, so he would’ve needed a big turn, multiple takedowns, or for Dutton to get hit with what would’ve been a third stall call after one takedown. “We had guys who took care of business,” Ashnault said. “It was a tight match and this is what we want at the Catholic School Duals. It’s the best teams wrestling.” CBA limited more bonus in the match at 215 with Alex Caiafa limiting senior state medalist Kaleb Jackson to just a technical fall win. Kellen Duffy stayed off his back at 113 for the Colts as well, limiting freshman JoJo Burke to a tech fall. Every point mattered for CBA, and it got three big ones to start the match from sophomore Paul Kenny in his 8-2 victory over junior state runner-up Johnathon McGint
