Christian Brothers’ College Boksburg celebrated a momentous occasion with the grand opening of their new hockey AstroTurf field on July 17.
This advanced facility, one of the first of its kind in the area due to its state-of-the-art lighting, promises to be a game-changer for the sport in the region.“We are thrilled to open this remarkable facility. It is a significant upgrade from our previous arrangements, where we relied on St Dominic's AstroTurf.
“This field will benefit our primary and high school boys, the broader community and provincial teams. If it benefits Boksburg, it benefits hockey in the east,” said Craig. “When I joined the school, I aimed to enhance every facility, and this particular project was especially dear to my heart,“ he added.“For hockey, this is another great achievement and even more notable in the East Rand.“We look forward to the improvement of the game in this vicinity.“A player playing on grass versus astro is different, and we know the current trend in hockey is astro.
'This is where we prepare players for the national team. I want to wish CBC all the very best with this beginning.”“This facility opens gateways for dreams and memories. I congratulate the school and hope it continues to thrive. To the players, may you push your limits and reach new heights.”
