"So, we all know I've been on bed rest for a few weeks and that's super serious bed rest, like get up to quickly pee and that's it. I would take like baths twice a week, no showering," Teigen said in a series of. "But I was always, always bleeding," she said, explaining that she's been bleeding for about a month during her pregnancy.
Teigen clarified that she's bleeding more than she would during a period and that she's "definitely not" spotting, which happens to many people during pregnancy and is usually not a concern. "Mine was a lot," she said. "It's just kind of always on, and it was at the point today where I was just like never stopping bleeding. And that's obviously very bad.
Although Teigen didn't say exactly what the issue was, she explained that, "in the simplest of terms we can say my placenta is really really weak." She feels fine—great, in fact—and her baby is healthy and "just the strongest little dude," she said. "But he is the strongest, coolest dude in the shittiest house. His house is falling apart. It didn't have a good foundation.".
However, if the bleeding is heavier, as it is in Teigen's case, that's definitely cause for concern. And if the bleeding comes with pain, chills, or a fever, or if you're spotting for several hours or days at a time, those are definitely signs that you should check in with your doctor.
