Chris Paul Warriors Discuss Pushing Back June 28th Guarantee Date - RealGM Wiretap
The Golden State Warriors and Chris Paul have discussed extending his guarantee date back from its current date of June 28th into July, sources tell Anthony Slater of The Athletic. For the Warriors, they could continue to keep their trade options available to them as offseason business plays out. If Paul becomes a free agent, he will surely sign for a number far less than $30 million and this increases the possibility of that contract becoming guaranteed.
Paul has maintained his Bird rights throughout his career, opting into his contract in 2017 to orchestrate a trade from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Houston Rockets. While on his next contract with the Rockets, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and then again to the Phoenix Suns.
