Nicknamed the"Point God," a report, which ultimately proved false, emerged earlier this week that Paul was released by the Phoenix Suns. While Paul is still with the Suns organization, there isBetOnline puts the odds that Paul will head to the Spurs at 2 to 1.
Whether Paul is released into free agency or traded by Phoenix, the Spurs appear to be the team most likely to acquire his services. With the arrival of Wembanyama, the consensus No. 1 pick in this year's NBA Draft, San Antonio may look to get competitive again. Acquiring Paul would certainly help with that.A likely Hall of Famer, Paul averaged 32 minutes per night in 59 games with Phoenix last season at the age of 37, turning 38 on May 6.
