Chris Paul's clutch shooting key as Suns take commanding 3-1 series lead over Clippers
Kevin Durant and Chris Paul bring game 5 back to PhoenixLOS ANGELES — Chris Paul just smiled as he went back to the bench late in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon.Devin Booker and Kevin Durant once again carried the offensive load in leading Phoenix to an 112-100 win, but Paul closed out Game 4 with his clutch play as the Suns took a 3-1 series lead over the gutsy, but short-handed Clippers.
"The mental fortitude that it takes to come back from the game he had the other day," Suns coach Monty Williams said."... I'm just grateful for his mental stamina in these type of environments. He's missing shots one game and he comes back the next game and he just does what Chris does.""They play hard," Suns big Deandre Ayton said about the Clippers.
"It seemed like every shot that he hit was a big shot," Suns forward Torrey Craig said."The one he hit in the corner was ridiculous. I told him it was luck, but it was a great shot." The Clippers were once again without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George as both are sidelined with right knee sprains. Leonard has missed the last two games of the series after scoring 38 points in Game 1 the Clippers won in Phoenix and 31 points in Game 2, which the Suns took at home to even the series.
