A California Highway Patrol sergeant, six officers and a nurse were charged Wednesday, March 29, in the killing of aas officers kneeled on top of him while the nurse drew his blood in the parking lot of the Altadena CHP station in 2020.
In the video which the DA’s office played during a press conference Wednesday, Bronstein could be heard saying, “I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” several times. “This is a step in the right direction because these officers will be held accountable,” Luis Carrillo said. “They took his life without reverence for human life.”CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee said Wednesday that he extends his deepest condolences to Bronstein’s family.
