CHP investigates car-to-car shooting in Spring Valley [Breaking]
A traffic incident on a Spring Valley highway spurred a car-to-car shooting Monday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
No one was hurt in the shooting, which occurred about 3 p.m. on north state Route 125 north of Jamacha Road in the La Presa neighborhood, said CHP Officer Travis Garrow. He said the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox made an unsafe lane change in front of a light blue Saturn sedan. The driver of the car speed up and pulled up next to the compact SUV, then fired a single round.
The SUV was struck, but neither the driver nor a passenger was injured, Garrow said. He identified the driver as a 71-year-old woman from El Cajon.The agent followed the sedan into El Cajon but lost track of the vehicle. El Cajon police and a sheriff’s helicopter helped search for the car but did not locate it.
