In Chorleywood, residents are invited to have their say on plans for 675 homes in the Green Belt.
The return of plans for over 600 homes on a Chorleywood Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has sparked a public meeting.on the 55.8-acre site east of Green Street at a meeting at the Chorleywood War Memorial Hall on May 2 at 7.30pm.
The parish council announced the assembly after the application by planning agent Savills, on behalf of the Chiltern Hills Golf Club, was confirmed by Three Rivers District Council on April 10.It comes just months after Savills withdrew their appeal to the planning inspectorate last October following the rejection of plans for 800 homes on the same site in March 2023.
The new proposals could see a smaller housing development and a two-form entry primary school built on the field, which is currently used for cattle grazing. In the application, the agent admits that the plot’s location in the Green Belt and Chiltern’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty “will bring a level of harm”, but maintains that the public benefit of providing new homes outweighed this.
Anyone who wishes to attend the meeting or speak should contact the parish council on [email protected] or 01923 285594 by midday on April 30.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
