Nearly 30,000 pounds of Chomps beef sticks are recalled due to potential metal contamination. The recall affects products distributed nationwide and consumers are advised to discard or return them.

Nearly 30,000 pounds of Chomps meat sticks have been recalled due to reports of metal fragments found within the product. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration first announced the recall on March 20, covering packages distributed to retailers across the country. The recall notice, issued by the U.S.

Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), states that Idaho Smokehouse Partners, LLC, based in Shelley, Idaho, initiated the recall of approximately 29,541 pounds of ready-to-eat beef stick products. These products may contain foreign material, specifically metal. FSIS reports that two customers have reported finding pieces of metal in the product. The tainted Chomps beef sticks were produced between January 13 and 15, 2025, and have an expiration date in 2026. However, due to the extended shelf life, the FSIS is concerned that some of the recalled products may still be stored in consumers' pantries. Officials emphasize that no confirmed reports of injuries have been received thus far.The recalled Chomps beef sticks are shipped to distribution centers in California, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Washington for further distribution to retail locations nationwide. In response to the complaints, Idaho Smokehouse Partners collaborated with regulatory authorities to determine the best course of action to protect consumers. The company issued a statement to FOX News Digital, stating, 'out of an abundance of caution, we worked with regulatory authorities on the best way to protect consumers from this issue.' They further emphasized their commitment to the highest food safety standards, stating, 'We are taking this action because we are committed to the highest food safety standards for the consumers of our products.' Consumers who have purchased these recalled beef sticks are advised against consuming them. They should discard the products or return them to the place of purchase. For any questions or concerns regarding the recall, consumers are encouraged to visit Chomps’ website at www.chomps.com/recall or contact Idaho Smokehouse Partners directly at (208) 227-5282
