Preheat oven to 350˚. Butter pans and line bottoms with parchment. Butter parchment, then dust with flour, tapping out excess.
Meanwhile, whisk flour, almond meal, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl until no lumps remain. Reduce mixer speed to low and add dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with buttermilk mixture in 2 additions, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
