FAIRBANKS, Alaska - For those who fished this summer in Chitina, The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is REEL-ing in any last minute dip net reports.
The Chitina Personal Use Salmon Fishery closed on September 30, this year. Permit holders have until Saturday, October 15 to report their harvest numbers. Reporting is done online at thePermit reporting is mandatory and all permit holders are required by law to report their harvest numbers, even if they did not fish or catch any fish. Those who fail to report online by October 15 will be denied a permit for next year.
ADF&G wants to remind residents accurate reporting and participation and harvest is necessary for the sustainable management of the Copper River salmon fisheries.
