Citing data from think tank Institut Darul Ehsan , Liew said the voter turnout rate for the Chinese community was 49 per cent, while the turnout for Indians was 48 per cent and Malays 61 per cent, according to a report published today inThe Iskandar Puteri MP highlighted that Pakatan Harapan core supporters, regardless of ethnicity, rallied behind Barisan Nasional during the by-election.

He also revealed that BN candidate Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah secured 90 per cent of the votes across Bandar Tengah’s six voting streams. These included tensions between Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh and DAP’s Teresa Kok, which had caused some friction.
