Chinese President Xi Jinping has committed to President Duterte that China will continue to give its full support to the Philippines in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Duterte spoke to Xi on Thursday night, June 11, praised Duterte’s leadership in handling the coronavirus outbreak, and touted the friendship of their respective countries amid the global health crisis.“I am glad to see that under your leadership, the Philippines has introduced a series of strong prevention and control measures and achieved positive results,” the Chinese Embassy in Manila quoted Xi as telling Duterte.
