Two Chinese firms team up to pioneer ultra-fast charging battery solutions for eVTOLs, the development is set to advance EHang's EH216-S.
The collaboration aims to produce batteries with 200 Wh/kg that can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 5-10 minutes and last over 2,000 cycles.Electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft is being pitched as the next big revolution in the personal mobility domain. Their collaboration aims to pioneer efficient low-altitude transportation and drive progress in the UAM industry. The EH216-S is now authorized to transport passengers in commercial UAV operations. This achievement is noteworthy as it’s the first time all the necessary certificates have been awarded to unmanned eVTOL operations in the world.
This development is set to advance EHang’s EH216-S, which is about to enter a vital stage of commercial operations. The current range of the Ehang 216-S stands at just 18.6 miles , with a charging time of 2 hours.
