On the eve of the opening of a key Chinese Communist Party congress, party leader, head of state and commander of the armed forces Xi Jinping has given no indication of stepping away from power or anointing a successor.
The continuing anti-corruption campaign, Tsang said, shows that “anyone who stands in his way will be crushed.”
The experience is said to have toughened Xi and given him an understanding of the struggles of the rural population.
