Chinese ambassador Xiao Qian says Australian politicians Scott Morrison should not visit Taiwan
China has lifted barriers on Australian exports in the latest indication of easing tensions, even as its local envoy warns visits to Taiwan could have “negative effects” on repairing bilateral ties with Beijing.
– expected by the end of the year – would be “historically significant” and akin to Gough Whitlam’s groundbreaking visit as the first Australian leader 50 years ago. Former prime minister Scott Morrison will travel to Taiwan next month for a forum organised by the Taiwanese foreign ministry. “I hope they will stick to the One China policy in words and deeds, refrain from engaging with Taiwan in whichever formal capacity, so they will not be politically utilised by people on that island with political motives.
“What we need now is recognition there are concerns from both sides. We need to respect each other, and we need to show flexibility. So long as we can show that kind of spirit, there may be a way to find a solution to those remaining issues,” he said.

Hunter Biden received $250k Chinese wire transfer sent to Joe Biden’s home addressCongressman James Comer has declared 'bank records don't lie, but President Joe Biden does' as bombshell evidence reveals Hunter Biden received over $US250,000 in 2019 through wire transfers from Beijing addressed to his father's Delaware home. Bombshell evidence revealed Hunter Biden allegedly received over $US250,000 in wire transfers from Chinese business partners in Beijing during the summer of 2019. In a post on X on Tuesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer wrote they'd received the evidence through a subpoena of bank records. The House Oversight Committee has been investigating the Biden family's international business dealings and the President's alleged involvement in them. The funds were directed to Joe Biden's Delaware home address and were linked to BHR Partners, a firm connected to Hunter Biden. One wire transfer was for $US10,000 from Ms Wang Xin, and the other was for $US250,000 from Li Xiang Sheng (Jonathan Li), the CEO of BHR Partners, and Ms Tan Ling. Both wire transfers listed Robert Hunter Biden as the recipient and used Joe Biden's Delaware home address, according to reports by Fox News Digital. It comes as Republicans are set to formally launch their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden on Thursday.
