Children crying and street taped off after boy, 5, hit by car near busy park in Merseyside
Children were seen crying at a busy park after a young boy was hit by a car. Police said the child was 'conscious and breathing' following the incident in Huyton, Merseyside, this morning .
An air ambulance was also seen in the area. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "The child has been taken to hospital."The driver stopped at the scene." Witnesses said police remained at the scene with a stretch of the road opposite the park cordoned off, while a small group of people were gathered at the cordon and children were seen in tears following the incident.
