A girl survived on chocolates after becoming trapped in an apartment with her dead relatives in a New York City apartment. a four-year-old girl was rescued after reportedly being trapped inside an apartment with her deceased mother and brother for at least two weeks.
The outlet reported that 38-year-old Lisa Cotton and her eight-year-old son were found dead inside the apartment after a wellness check conducted on Friday. The child's grandfather, Hubert Cotton, told News 12 that he has assumed responsibility for the girl, adding that she is physically doing well. Cotton added that he was informed that Lisa Cotton suffered "a heart attack," although an official cause of death for either individual involved has yet to be released.When speaking to the station, Cotton said that the girl was able to survive by eating the chocolate she found around the apartment. News 12 reported that the Administration for Children's Services had visited the home earlier in the week.
