The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center, serving children in Coffee, Barbour, Bullock, and Pike Counties, has received a $89,360 state grant to provide professional care and assistance to victims of child abuse. The grant is part of $1.27 million awarded by Gov. Kay Ivey to eight agencies across Alabama.

An agency serving victims of child abuse in Coffee County is among the eight agencies receiving a state grant.

Ivey awarded $1.27 million to eight agencies, including the Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center, that provide professional care and assistance to victims of child abuse in a total of 20 Alabama counties. The organizations receiving grants provide a wide variety of services to victims of child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, child pornography and bullying. That assistance includes personal advocacy, information and referrals, emotional support, safety services and help filing compensation claims. The organizations also serve children of homicide victims and those who have been victimized in teen dating situations.
