and was doubtful for Thursday’s games against the Lions, the Pro Bowler’s status is trending upwards. Following a morning workout Thursday, in which Chiefs personnel tested Kelce’s injured knee — he’s currently dealing with a bone bruise — the two-time Super Bowl champ is a “true game-day decision” for Thursday night’s contest,“We hope that he’ll be able to go tonight. He’ll be a game-time decision, but he’s somebody who loves to compete, so I wouldn’t bet against him being on the field tonight,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt added on “Good Morning Football” Thursday.

“The ligaments and everything are intact. Structurally, from what we know right now, his knee is fine, so really it’s about getting that swelling down and then seeing how bruised that bone is because if you have ever had those, they can be pretty painful.” Kelce, an eight-time Pro-Bowler, is the Chiefs’ leading receiver, coming off a season in which he caught 110 passes for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns.
