Kaizer Chiefs discard Teddy Akumu has found overseas joy after being offloaded in June.
Akumu was on target in a hard-fought win in a J1 League Cup Group A match against rivals Jubilo Iwata.The Kenyan opened the scoring after just six minutes after being named as a starter to reward his new side with immediate reward. He is yet to play in any of the six J1 League matches played by Sagan to date with his two appearances both coming in the J1 Cup.The 30-year-old joined Tosu in December after spending six months without a club following the termination of his contract at Chiefs and subsequent release in June.
However, after an encouraging start playing 12 games in the second half of the 2019/20 season, he then featured in 25 the following season playing as a defensive midfielder or central defender but then found himself out of favour last season.
