According to Boston Herald Patriots beat reporter Doug Kyed, former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel will be interviewed on Wednesday. Vrabel most recently served as a personnel consultant for the Cleveland Browns, but his contract has expired, allowing him to interview freely. However, the Bears might need to act swiftly as Vrabel has already been interviewed by the New York Jets last Friday, and the Patriots are also reportedly planning to interview him. A significant development on Christmas Day saw former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll express his interest in returning to coaching, specifically targeting the Bears' position. He'll get his chance on Thursday. ESPN's Dan Graziano reports that Carroll will be interviewed by the Bears on Thursday. Like Vrabel, Carroll doesn't require a request to interview. The Bears will extend an opportunity to the Super Bowl-winning coach. While open to coaching any team, Carroll's interest in the Bears is clear. Carroll won't be the only candidate interviewed on Thursday. The Bears are also meeting with a wild-card candidate. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Bears will be interviewing New York Giants offensive coordinator and Chicago native Mike Kafka on Thursday. The Bears had submitted a request for an interview on Monday, which was granted. Kafka, the Chiefs' quarterbacks coach, Northwestern quarterback, and St. Rita High School alum, is also reportedly interviewing with the New Orleans Saints
