Actress and San Antonio-area resident Cheryl Ladd is 'Dancing With the Stars' on Disney+
"I'm so excited to be on 'Dancing with the Stars,' to represent Texas and to do my best," Ladd told the Express-News through a spokesman during a break in rehearsals."And I’ll do my best. Please watch and vote."Ladd's partner will be Louis Van Amstel, the Dutch-American ballroom dance champion who has has been a dance partner on 10 previous seasons of"DWTS." He reached the finals with Kelly Osbourne on season nine.
This will be the first time the long-running dance competition has run on a streaming service. It was previously broadcast on ABC. It also will be Disney+'s first-ever live series.In another first, the show will have its first-ever drag-queen contestant, D.J. “Shangela” Pierce, who will dance with Gleb Savchenko.
Other celebrity contestants include actress Selma Blair,"Let's Make a Deal" host Wayne Brady, country singer Jessie James Decker and"Good Morning America" meteorologist Sam Champion. Ladd burst onto the scene in 1977, taking on the unenviable task of replacing Farrah Fawcett-Majors in the hit TV series"Charlie's Angels." She played private detective Kris Monroe, the spunky kid sister of Fawcett-Majors' character Jill Monroe.
A resident of the Boerne area, Ladd continues to act, appearing in the Lifetime Christmas movie"Christmas Unwrapped," guest starring on HBO's"Ballers" and Showtime's"Ray Donovan," and playing the wife of O.J. Simpson's defense attorney Robery Shapiro in FX's Emmy-winning drama American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson."
