Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Chelsea will not receive any points deductions for the alleged historic wrongdoings of Roman Abramovich’s regime., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the Blues are much more likely to get a financial penalty.
Speaking earlier this month, Premier League chief Richard Masters confirmed the investigation into Abramovich and Chelsea is “reaching a conclusion”. Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital self-reported the club after flagging concerns over several previous transactions they uncovered during the takeover process.
