The now 34-year-old first rose to fame on MTV’s “Teen Mom 2” in 2011, sharing her life as she navigated high school and parenting.DeBoer took a chance and sent a DM to HGTV and ended up landing a deal for her show with her husband, Cole DeBoer, titled “Down Home Fab.” “I feel like that's so out of character for me to like, shoot my shot on things like that,” she told PauseRewind’s Kevin Zelman. “But I was feeling brave that night, I guess. And I just sent a little DM, and I remember I deleted it right after I sent it, because I was like, ‘I'm so embarrassing.’ And I felt like, so silly.”She continued, “And so then after we got the show, I was like, ‘Oh, I wish I could see that message.’ So, thankfully, HGTV saved it and they posted it somewhere, but it's just so wild.” The gamble paid off, and “Down Home Fab” has had three seasons so far, along with a home goods store in Tea, South Dakota, calledBut going back on camera after growing up as a reality star made DeBoer slightly hesitant. “I was kind of nervous going into it, and I don't even know why. I think I had been on TV for so long before that, and it was such a different dynamic,” she said. “Like, reality TV such as ‘Teen Mom’ was very chaotic, you know, a little negative from time to time. It was a totally different feeling when we started HGTV. I actually wasn't nervous about any of that. I was like, they want to they want us to look good. They want people to love us, and they want to show our true personality. And so I was like, excited too, just becauseI trust these people 100% and I'm not nervous about anything. I can say whatever.” And while she’s grateful for her time on “Teen Mom,” DeBoer admits “the first time I saw ‘HGTV’s Chelsea DeBoer ‘instead of ‘Teen Mom 2,’ I was like, I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is so exciting.’” “I know I'll always be tied to that show, and that show was a huge part of my life and so important to my journey, but I will say, I feel like there's a little bit more respect or something being able to be tied to something like HGTV,” she continued. “And to me, career-wise, that just means a lot to me. And so I feel like people take you a little bit more seriously when you're on HGTV.” Hosts Chelsea and Cole do finishing touches in renovated kitchen at homeowner Tupys, as seen on "Down Home Fab," Season 3.{ } DeBoer balances design duties and parenting duties with Cole, her husband of 10 years. The couple share four children: Aubree, from DeBoer’s relationship with Alex Lind on “Teen Mom 2,” and Watson, Layne, and Walker. The couple joked that they’re not the super organized parents one might think, but they have a great working relationship on and off screen. “We've realized like, yes, we do work together nonstop, but we've understood now we have to divide and conquer. Otherwise we're screwed,” Cole said with a laugh.“I think the biggest thing that we learned as we've gotten older and the kids have gotten older, is we really want to be selective on how we show the kids, how much we show the kids, and just really trying to protect them,” DeBoer said. She noted that most of their kids have been used to being around cameras in some way and are more or less comfortable, mostly because when the camera people drop by, so do the snacks. Cole joked, “They were excited to see the cameras, because they're like, ‘When are the camera people coming?’ Because then they would just raid the snack bin. They knew there's stuff coming, and it turned into they wanted the camera people because they had treats.”Traces of drugs, including cocaine, found in some shark species: study A new study published in the journal Environmental Pollution found traces of pharmaceuticals and illicit drugs in several shark species. One woman is dead and another woman is in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an early morning shooting in Tacoma.A drone scare at PBI triggered a ground stop and scrambled helicopters Sunday near Air Force One, per a Delta pilot caught on video circulating online. For the third time in less than a year, millions of people took to the streets nationwide for “No Kings” protests against the Trump administration, as demonstra
