Auburn pulled out all the stops Saturday and brough home some of the best to ever do it in the Orange and Blue.
Charles Barkley, Suni Lee, Cam Newton and Frank Sullivan met on the field minutes before kickoff to pose for a photo. The four of them each had wildly successful careers on The Plains.
Barkley played basketball for the Tigers for three seasons and was named the SEC’s Player of the Year in 1984, earned three All-SEC selections, was named an All-American and had his No. 34 jersey retired by the Tigers in 2001. Auburn gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Suni Lee also made her way to Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday and appeared smaller than her 5-foot frame suggests standing alongside the likes of Barkley, Newton and Thomas. Before being sidelined by illness last season, Lee had the most decorated career in Auburn gymnastics history, with eight All-American honors, a national championship and being named SEC Freshman of the Year.
Former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton joined the squad of Auburn A-Listers Saturday after taking to Auburn’s social media pages and asking if he should watch Saturday’s game form the student section.
