Three-time Emmy-winning journalist and Los Angeles TV news anchor Chauncy Glover died unexpectedly on Tuesday, his family announced. He was 39. Glover had co-anchored the 5 and 11 p.m. newscasts at KCAL News with Pat Harvey, and shared the desk with Suzie Suh at 8 and 10 p.m. for the last year, after joining their anchor team in October 2023.

Before working with KCAL in Los Angeles, Glover was the first Black male main anchor for Houston’s KTRK, where he was on the air for eight years, according to KCAL. The Alabama native worked in Michigan, Florida, Georgia and Texas before relocating to California.
